Beatrice E. Kelly Constableville Beatrice (Frank) Kelly, 97, widow of Gilbert L., a former long time resident of James St., Constableville, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the Lewis Co. Extended Care Facility, Lowville, where she had resided since July, 2010. A native of Constableville, she was born on April 12, 1915, a daughter of Herman J. and Anna D. Zimmer Frank. Part of her childhood was spent living on the original Constable Farm, the location of today's Constable Hall Museum. Beatrice graduated from Constableville High School, with the Class of 1932, on September 6, 1932; she entered The Boonville Teachers Training Class, later receiving her Teacher's Certificate. Mrs. Kelly graduated from Potsdam Normal School, with the Class of 1937, and in 1960, she received her permanent Teacher's Certification from the State of New York via SUNY Potsdam. For many years, she was a teacher in one-room schoolhouses in the hamlets of Leyden, Fish Creek, Mohawk Hill, Williamson, and then at the Town of Webb School, Old Forge, followed by teaching at the one-room school in Collinsville. In 1955, Mrs. Kelly began teaching first grade at Port Leyden Central School, retiring from the South Lewis Central School System in 1975. On September 20, 1946, Beatrice was united in marriage with Gilbert L. Kelly at St. Martin's Church, Port Leyden. Mr. Kelly, a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater of WW II, and a retiree of Georgia Pacific Paper Co., Lyons Falls, died on October 1, 1995. Mrs. Kelly was a member of St. Mary's Church, Constableville. For many years, she served as secretary of the Constableville Senior Citizens, secretary of the Tug Hill Trailblazers Snowmobile Club, and she was a long time member of the NYS Teachers and Retired Teachers Associations. Over the years, she enjoyed snowmobiling, playing cards, knitting and crocheting, and most of all, Snow Dancing. She enjoyed and greatly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bea is survived by two children, Karen Kelly Nelson, New Hartford, and Brenda Kelly, New Hartford/ Constableville; two grandchildren, Erica (Rene) Beauregard, Downingtown, PA, and Heather (Steven) Young, Lowville; and five great-grandchildren, McKenzie Haag and her father, Reuben, both of Whitesboro, Madison and Chase Beauregard, and Cairn and Caylee Young. She was predeceased by a son, Ronald Peter Kelly, on September 1, 1987, and by her granddaughter, Lisa Liechty Haag, in 2008. The last of her family, Beatrice was predeceased by three brothers, Robert Frank, in 1985, Gerald Frank, in 1990, and Donald Frank, in 2009, and by two sisters, Marguerite, who died as an infant in 1917, and Mary Frank, in 1975. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Church, Constableville, where Rev. Lawrence Marullo, Pastor, will officiate. Interment in the spring will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Constableville. A calling hour will be Monday from 9 AM until 10 AM at Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., 143 Schuyler St., Boonville.
