<!-- FH = Jennings and Ayers (615) 893-2422 -->Beatrice "Bea" Baker WatsonBeatrice (Bea) Baker (Wood, Chaney) Watson, September 19, 1925 - August 24, 2011; was a resident of Murfreesboro, TN and previously in Phoenix, AZ and Hopkinsville, KY. After a well-fought battle with multiple health issues, Bea went home to be with the Lord. Bea was born in Van Buren County, TN where she grew up on her parents' farm and played on the local school's girls' basketball team. She graduated from cosmetology school as a licensed cosmetologist, and was a credentialed cosmetology instructor, licensed in both Kentucky and Tennessee.Bea was the youngest of Nate and Ola Baker's eight children, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, James (Jimmy) Wood of Hopkinsville, KY, WB Chaney of Bowling Green, KY and Murfreesboro, TN, and Wallace (Wally) Watson of Phoenix, AZ; her daughter, Beth Coe and grandson, Jon Christopher Wilenken.Bea is survived by daughter, LaVonne Jacobsen and son-in-law, John (Jake) Jacobsen of Edmond, OK; grandson, Adam Coe; granddaughter, Natalie B. Wilenken and one treasured great-granddaughter, Molly E. Coe, and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews who were blessed to know her. Bea touched the lives of many people, having educated and trained more than 1500 cosmetology students throughout Tennessee and Kentucky over 20 years. She was an outspoken advocate for women, in particular, offering a chance for a profession and support for their families. In 1967, she along with her husband, WB Chaney, founded Murfreesboro University of Beauty. Bea was at the forefront in advancing standards of excellence in the field of cosmetolog,y and worked in close association with the Tennessee and Kentucky Boards of Cosmetology.Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service in her honor on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 2 p.m., at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home, 820 S. Church St., Murfreesboro, TN 37130. Please leave condolences at www.jenningsandayers.com.
