Obituary of Barbara-Wright Johnson


Funeral service for Mrs. Barbara Wright Johnson, 71, will be at the K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Trey Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Community Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 1 - 2 p.m. prior to the service. Mrs. Johnson died on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at her residence. She is survived by two step-children, who were her "children", daughter, Pat Johnson Carroll and her husband, Ron, of Buchanan, Ga. and son, Michael Johnson and his wife Karen, of Cedartown, Ga.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Floria Fortenberry, of Piedmont and Grace Kitchens, of Jacksonville; one brother, Aaron Wright and his wife Norma, of Piedmont; five sisters-in-law, Dot Wright, of Jacksonville, Avis Johnson Jones, of Oxford, Betty Johnson Gill and her husband Lester, of Heflin, Linda Johnson Sheets and her husband Tommy, of White Plains and Pat Scott Johnson, of Weaver and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Josh Jones, Tim, Gary and Joey Fortenberry, Randy Kay and Jerry Trammel. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Johnson; her daughter, Sandy Johnson; her son, Phillip Johnson; three sisters, Willie Wright Reynolds, Mary Wright Reynolds and Frances Wright Murphy; four brothers, James, Coley, Curtis and Wayne Wright and her parents, Jim and Minnie Wright. Mrs. Johnson was always happiest when working in her flower garden. She shared her flowers and her knowledge of gardening with her family, friends and neighbors. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Staff of McClellan Cancer Center, Dr. Rey Gavino, Gentiva Hospice Staff, her neighbors and very special friends, Ursula Smith and Vickie Johnson Emigh.
