WILLIAMSTOWN - The funeral service for Barbara Powers Davis, of Soucy Lane, was held Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008, at 2 p.m. in the Orange Alliance Church. She died Dec. 3, 2008, at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington.The Rev. Thomas Friedrichs, Pastor of the church, led the service. Words of remembrance were offered by her husband, Rocky Davis and a tribute was read by great granddaughter, Hailey Smith. A pictorial reflection of her life was presented to the congregation.Rev. Friedrichs led the congregation in the hymn "Amazing Grace" on his guitar. Two special pre-recorded musical selections "I Swear" and "I Will Remember You" were also played.The honorary bearers were grandchildren Michael and Michaela Plante and Ian Dudley and great grandchildren; Michelle Powers, Corbin and Kayla Young and Hailey Smith.The active bearers were grandchildren Douglas and Darlene Bailey, Jennifer Young, Nicholas Powers, Kristine Laforest and Anthony Meiggs.Later internment will be made in the Orange Center Cemetery.Fellowship and luncheon followed in the Orange Town Hall.The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre, was in charge of the arrangements.
