Barbara-Potter Angus, spouse of Harry-Marshall Angus, daughter of Andrew and Ethel, mother of Susan, Marilyn, Priscilla, Ri, Harry Marshall and Jr, died on May 13, 2012.
Barbara Potter Angus, 90, a long time resident of Barnstable Village passed away on May 13, 2012, after a long struggle with Alzheimers disease. She was the wife of the late Harry Marshall Angus to whom she was married for 57 years. She was born in Newton, MA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Ethel Potter. During World War II she served in the American Red Cross and met Harry while stationed in Iceland. They married in 1946 and raised their 4 children in E. Walpole. In the early 1960s they built their dream vacation home on Cape Cod. They enjoyed summers and weekends on the Cape, and in 1980 they retired and moved to Barnstable Village. They traveled in their motor home seeing much of the United States, Canada, & Mexico. They frequently reminisced of their grand adventures, and shared many great memories! She is survived by her daughter Susan (Steve Whitmore) Angus of Barnstable Village, Marilyn (Bill) Quinn of Barnstable Village, Priscilla (John) Laliberty of E Greenwich, RI, and Harry (Cheryl) Marshall Angus, Jr. of Antioch CA. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren Sarah (Jim) OReilly of Centerville, Andrea (Jim) Lyonnais of Sandwich, Stephanie Couey (Steve Provanzano) of Lynnfield, William Laliberty of E Greenwich, RI, Michele (Lorenzo) Spruell of Willimantic, CT, Matthew Angus of San Francisco, CA, and Nicholas Angus of Brentwood, CA; and 5 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Andrew Potter. The family wishes to thank the many wonderful caregivers at Harbor Point of Centerville and Beacon Hospice. A service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2:00 at the Unitarian Church, Route 6A, in Barnstable Village. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Camp Farley, 615 Route 130, Mashpee, MA 02649 or to the Unitarian Church, Barnstable, MA 02630, or a charitable organization of your choice on Cape Cod.
