Obituary of Barbara Nelson


NELSON _ Barbara Barbara Nelson of Claresholm passed away peacefully on November 9, 2004 at the Willow Creek Continuing Care Centre, Claresholm. Barbara was born of Scottish descent on January 29, 1915 in Calgary. She married July 12, 1938 at Claresholm and farmed until retirement in 1972, after which she remained active in the local community. Barbara is survived by a son, Ralph A. Nelson and two daughters-in-law, Turid Nelson and Jean Nelson; five grandchildren, Barbara Nelson, Karen Dykman (Michael), Keith Nelson (Karen), Roger and Lisa Nelson; and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Marina, Kale, Reese, Zachary and Sydney. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Arthur W. Nelson on May 2, 1988 and her son Douglas M. Nelson on August 27, 2004. Funeral Services will be held at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME, 4079 First Street West, Claresholm, on November 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial tributes may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Calgary, 1920 - 11 Street S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3G2.
