MITCHELL Barbara (Bobbie) Buford Mitchell passed away on December 21, 2003. She was born in New York City, moving to Jacksonville as an infant. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and attended George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She also graduated from Thelma Doyle's Fashion School of Modeling. “ Bobbie” was an active member of Southside Baptist Church, the Southside Woman's Club, and the Symphony Guild. She was a former member of the Jacksonville Board of Realtors, retiring from Real Estate in 1989. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Marvin Andrew Mitchell, Sr. “Mitch”; a daughter, Sandra Jean Mitchell of Lewisville, NC; a son, Marvin Andrew Mitchell, Jr. of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and four grandchildren, Audra Denise Justice of New York City, Caroline Justice Stephens of Gainesville, FL, Katherine Leigh Mitchell and Kristen Kathleen Mitchell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The family will receive friends at HARDAGE -GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 4115 Hendricks Ave. from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, December 22, 2003. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 with Rev. Eddie Lockamy of Southside Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Southside Baptist Missionary Fund.
