Obituary of Barbara-Lee Mitchell


TUSCALOOSA Barbara Lee Mitchell, age 61, of Tuscaloosa, died April 9, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Memory Hill Gardens with Bro. Ed King and Todd Davis officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at Memory Chapel Funeral Home.She was preceded in death by her mother, Media Channell, her father, Luther Channell, and her sister, Liz Franklin.Survivors include her husband, Tubby Mitchell of Tuscaloosa; her daughters, Brandi Hallman (Robbie) and April Johns (Randy) of Tuscaloosa; her brother, Bill Davis of Tuscaloosa; and her grandchildren, Lori Hallman, Blake Hallman, and Ella Johns.Barbara was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a genuine, caring heart and was always there for anyone who needed anything. Over her lifetime, she had many friends whom she loved so dearly. Barbara will be greatly missed by all who knew her. We all know she is looking down on us. She is at peace with God now.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jerry McKnight and staff of University Medical Center, and nurses and staff of Hospice of West Alabama.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice.Condolences may be offered at www.sunsetbrown-funeral.com.
