Obituary of Barbara-L. Carter

Barbara L. Carter passed away on Monday, June 24, 2002 at her home in Stony Point, New York. She was born on August 13, 1942 to Frederick and Dorothy Salerno. She lived in the Bronx, graduated from Cathedral High School, and married Thomas E. Carter in 1962. In 1970, her family moved to Rockland County. Barbara worked at Prime Time for kids (formerly the Association for Retarded Children) for over 20 years. She was an avid bingo player, loved to shop and truly enjoyed being with her friends and family. Barbara is survived by her loving husband Thomas of 40 years, her three children Thomas S. Carter, Caroline Kolb and Deborah MacMillan, her daughter-in-law Susan, her son-in-laws, Lance Kolb and Frank MacMillian and her five grandchildren, T.J., Samantha, Luke, Zachary and Jenna. Barbara is also survived by her sister, Margaret Reisz and many wonderful friends. Viewing and services will be held on Wednesday, June 26 from 7-9pm and Thursday June 27 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home, in Stony Point. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Stony Point at 11:30am. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, New York.
