ObituaryBARBARA L. BARBERTRUMANSBURG - Barbara L. Barber, 76, of 241 Pennsylvania Ave., Trumansburg, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Trumansburg on Monday, January 20, 2003, following a brief illness.Born on March 13, 1926 in Lowell, Massachusetts, Barbara was the daughter of Archibald and Esther Ross MacIntyre. She graduated from the Lowell High School and worked as a bookkeeper for various companies over the years. Barbara was very active in the Presbyterian Church in Lansingburgh and Hamburg, NY and Independence, Ohio and with her final move to Trumansburg in 1997, the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses. She was a member of the Trumansburg Senior Citizens, was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling. Barbara unselfishly gave of herself to help others as was evidenced by her devotion of countless hours of volunteer work with the Gemm Shop, the Trumansburg Food Pantry and the Elementary School. (She had a special warmth in her heart for children).Barbara was preceded in death by her husband (of 48 years) Walter J. Barber on March 30, 2001. She is survived by a son, Scott (Donna) Barber of Melbourne, FL; a daughter, Robin (Arthur) Goodell of Trumansburg; eleven grandchildren, Sarah, Sean, Amanda, Rachel, Seth, Kailey, Shea and Emma Barber and Emily, Natalie and Andrew Goodell; a brother, Robert (Nancy) MacIntyre of Gulf Shores, Alabama and several nieces and nephews. With a positive outlook on life and rock-solid strength from her faith in God, Barbara was often sought out for guidance. Her family will carry those qualities forever in their hearts.A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses on Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Jeffrey S. Kellam officiating. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the Ulysses Historical Society, 39 South Street, Trumansburg.Contributions in Barbara's memory may be directed to the Trumansburg Elementary School, 100 Whig St., Trumansburg, NY 14886, Trumansburg Food Pantry, P.O. Box 162, Trumansburg, NY 14886 or the First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses, P.O.
