BUTLER, Barbara Kathleen Barbara Kathleen Butler (nee Oliver, born October 4, 1929 in Haringay North London). We have lost a great and wonderful human being. Barbara passed away unexpectedly, after a short illness, on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 in Calgary, Alberta. Barbara, along with her family, came to Canada in March 1966. She lived in Saskatoon (Saskatchewan), as well as Port Moody, Coquitlam and New Westminster (British Columbia) before moving to Calgary, Alberta. Her whole life consisted of providing services to and on behalf of others, working as a librarian for most of her working life and being a devoted and tireless mother all her life. She is survived by her three daughters, Josephine Judge, Hilary Higgins and Philippa Norman; and two sons, Stephen Butler and Andrew Butler; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her cousins, brother Tim and sister-in-law Ruth who reside in England, along with their extended families. Our mother was the stalwart Matriarch and pillar of the family clan. She came into this world with good providence (with the guidance and wisdom of God), she created good throughout her life, and she leaves us with happy memories. She is loved, revered and adored. Our mother will live forever in our minds, hearts, and souls. Mum will always be there to remind us of how lucky we are to have known her. Thanks mum for being there for us; we will try to live up to who you are and what you represent. The family acknowledges the support, kindness and fellowship shown to Barbara by the many friends she enjoyed over the course of her life. We along with all the people you have come in contact with, miss you very much! A Memorial Service will be held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W. (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery), on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your local library or your favorite charity in Barbara's honor.
