October 13, 1923 - June 6, 2013Our Mum, Grandma, and beloved friend to many, Barbara passed with loving family by her side. Barbara was born in Bournemouth England, and grew up through the Depression and WW2. She served in the WAAF from 1941 to 1946 and had fond memories about this period in her life! Barbara Immigrated to Canada in 1960. In June of 1961 her daughter Fiona was born, followed by son Ian, in 1965. Barbara was full of life, and she lived life on her own terms. She loved dancing, and she really loved a good debate. She loved horses and dogs and cats. A decided "lefty" she loved to "stir the pot" and was passionate about politics. In later years, she became fan of slot machines. Although her mobility was severely compromised in the last months, she insisted on leaving the care facility to vote, and followed this with a visit to the casino!Barbara always looked great! She led an active social life, and had many admirers and friends. She was a long-time member of the Esquimalt Royal Canadian Legion, and an active member at the Juan de Fuca Senior's Centre. Barbara is survived by her loving children Fiona and Ian (Claudine); brothers John Randall (Alison), and Patrick Randall; grandchildren Michael Evans (Ashley), Megan Simpson, Nicole and Josselyn Evans; great-grandchildren Aliya and Miya. She will be greatly missed by her many long-time friends. A "Celebration of Life Tea" will be held at First Memorial (1155 Fort Street) on Friday June 14, 2013, between 2 and 4 pm.
