Obituary of Barbara-Jean Stewart


Mrs. Barbara Jean (Smith) Stewart, age 47, of Lavonia died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at her home following an extended illness. Born Aug. 18, 1960, in Fulton County, she was the daughter of Clyde Smith Sr. and the late Geneva (Waters) Smith. She was a homemaker and foster mother to numerous children. Mrs. Stewart was a member of Compassion Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Jody Stewart; daughters, Angela Stewart of the home and Tonya Stewart of Charleston, S.C.; father, Clyde Smith Sr. of Flowery Branch; brothers and sisters, Ronnie Wilson of Marietta, Ann Stamper of Wedowee, Ala., Debbie Wilson of Marietta, Donnie Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, Carla Willard of Braselton, Charlie Smith of Villa Rica, Michael Smith of Newnan, Cheryl Smith of Winder, Karen Smith of Buford, and Clyde Smith Jr. of Flowery Branch; and several nieces and nephews. The family is at the home, 31 Knottywood Drive, Lavonia, and will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at Compassion Baptist Church with the Rev.
