Miller, Barbara JeanNov. 7, 1939 - Oct. 3, 2012Barbara Jean Miller, 72, beloved wife of Dr. Richard W. Miller, died at her home in Venice, Florida, on October 3, 2012. She was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts; graduated from Greenfield High School in 1957, and was Past Worthy Advisor of Greenfield Assembly No. 27 of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Mrs. Miller and her husband lived for 40 years in Foxborough, Massachusetts; where she was the elementary school library and reading resource assistant at the Taylor School, media center specialist at the Igo Center and trustee of the Boyden Library as well as an active, avid volunteer in many organizations and member of St. Mark's Church, Foxboro. She is the 1987 winner of the Julia C. Carter Library Science Award from Bridgewater State College, from which she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Education in 1990. She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi.For many years, she and her husband spent summers sailing Narragansett Bay off the coast of Rhode Island, most recently calling Wickford Marina their home port. She and her husband won sailing races as a member of the Ocean State Catalina Association (OSCA). She was also a member of the Newport Yacht Club.Moving to Florida in 1998, Mrs. Miller took up golf and is the only two-time winner of the H. Ross and Marge Fernow Putting Tournament at the Jacaranda West Country Club. She was president of the Jacaranda Jills and a dedicated volunteer in many club activities, including benefits for the Loveland Center of Venice. She was also active in her homeowners' association at the Lakes of Jacaranda, particularly its book club; and attended St. Mark's Church in Venice. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Miller is survived by her three daughters, Pamela Reigeluth and her husband Robert of Venice, FL; Brenda Bedarian and her husband John of Franklin, Mass.; and Jennifer Miller of Edgewood, RI. She was predeceased by her father, Anton Mushovic, and survived by her mother, Olga Mushovic of Greenfield, Mass.; her brother, Anton Mushovic and his wife, Avis, of Amherst, Mass.; her sister, Elizabeth Ogonis and her husband Anthony of Westfield, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Cheryl and Katharine Reigeluth of Venice, FL, Benjamin and Bradley Bedarian of Franklin, Mass., James, Jacqueline, and Thomas Heaton of Edgewood, RI; one great-grandson, Dominic Lanuto of Venice, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, October 8, at 11 am at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Venice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Boyden Library, 16 Chestnut St., Suite 210, Foxboro, Mass., 02035. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
