Obituary of Barbara-Jean Carter

CARTER Barbara Jean Carter was born July 8, 1953 in Jacksonville, Florida. She grew up on the Westside area of Jacksonville, Florida. As the youngest child of 4 siblings, she learned very early the values of working for a living. Barbara was educated within the Jacksonville, Florida public school system and continued on to vocational school thereafter. Sometime later, she began her career with Southern Bell and Bell South telephone companies. Barbara wore many hats, not just a devoted mother; she was a role model, a loved and trusted friend to various people, young and old. She was honest but not rude, passive when necessary, but sustained her independence, respectful to others, and a highly valued worker. She always helped those in need, regardless of their relationship and station in life. The values that were instilled in her, she made sure that those same values were instilled in her two sons. The importance of a family bond was something very dear to her. Even with the distance separating her from her siblings, many nieces and nephews, and sometimes not only her children, Barbara made sure to remain in constant contact with everyone that she held dear to her heart. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, David Moment and Sarah Bush. Barbara is survived by two sons, Fred Carter Jr., and Ferrantino Carter. Also surviving Barbara is one sister, Mary P. Mercer and two Brothers, John W. Bush, and Willie J. Bush. Two Sister-In-Laws, Maria Bush and Elouise H. Bush to include a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Fri., July 6, 2012 at C. L. Page Mortuary, Inc., 3031 Moncrief Rd. Visitation will be held TODAY from 5-7 PM at the Mortuary. Arrangements entrusted to C. L.
