Obituary of Barbara-Jean Brown


BROWN Barbara Jean Brown, 78, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 from pancreatic cancer. For 49 years, a devoted and loving wife of the late W. Ted Brown. A beloved member of the Chancel Choir at Orange Park United Methodist Church, she was active in the Stephen Ministry and Lots of Ages. A registered nurse for over two decades, she provided medical care and comfort to countless members of the community as an E.R. nurse at St. Vincent's Medical Center and later helped to open the first walk in clinic, Lakeshore Medical Care Center. A loud and proud member of the UF gator nation, she is survived by her 5 children Sue and Gary Wade, Kris Brown and Deborah Pinnick, Charles and Melanie Brown, David and Nancy Brown, Dale and Mary Brown; 2 younger brothers, David and Judy LaRue, Paul and Barbara LaRue; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; and 2 earth angels her granddaughters Susan Patterson and Jennifer Lupoli. Viewing will be held at Orange Park United Methodist 2051 Park Ave from 6 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 12th. Graveside Service will be held at Jacksonville Memory Gardens at 2 p.m. Nov. 13th. A Celebration of her Life will follow at 4 p.m. at Orange Park United Methodist Church. Arrangements by HARDAGE- GIDDENS RIVERMEAD FUNERAL HOME, 950 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL.
