Obituary of Barbara-Jane-Lee Johnson

BARBARA JANE LEE JOHNSON Our mother was born in Newark, NJ on April 11, 1928 to Arthur and Mildred Lee. She died peacefully in her sleep on February 3, 2012. She was a great daughter and full of life and curiosity. As a young child she delighted those around her with her drawings and paintings. She graduated from Miami Edison High and went on to the Ringling School of Art, where she met and married the love of her life, William Murr Johnson. They raised 5 children, Cindy, Dennis, Billy Susie and Tommy. Her life was free spirited and centered around her incredible talent as an artist. She painted, did pottery, stained glass, jewelry, portraits, murals, interior design and volunteered for all things art. She and her husband were responsible for the complete design of Holy Family Catholic Church in North Miami. From the altar, to the walls, the candles, and stained glass, their shared vision was a source of pride and accomplishment. Most of all she loved her life, husband, children and friends. There will be no service. Her wish was to have her ashes sprinkled on Biscayne Bay along with our fathers ashes. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to: Bay Oaks Retirement Residence,435 NE 34th St., Miami, FL 33137, (305)573-4337 Paid Obituary
