Barbara Jane (Johnson) Brownof BinghamtonBarbara Jane (Johnson) Brown, 70, of Brook Ave., passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2003 at her home. She was predeceased by her husband DeLos C. Brown; parents, Walt and Elizabeth Johnson; brother, Robert Johnson; granddaughters, Jackie Lee Paff and Haley May Decker. She is survived by a son, Ronald D. Brown; and daughters, Sally Ann Schaefer, Loreena Townsend, Linda Brainard, Sandra Decker, Cheryl Coolbaugh; sister, Jane Mastronardi; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and in-laws, special cousin, Ann Marie Wellington; and a special friend Kane. She was a retired employee of the Binghamton Psychiatric Center. She was a member of the Centenary Untied Methodist Church, Past President of Opportunities for Broome, and founded First Ward Action Council.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2003 with Rev. Gary E. Doupe pastor of Centenary Untied Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Friends may call at Wm. R. Chase & Son Funeral Home, 737 Chenango St., Port Dickinson, Wednesday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Those wishing kindly consider memorial contributions in Barbara's memory to the Arthritis Foundation Broome County, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, N.Y. 13905.
