Barbara J. (Ankeles) White, age 80 of Swampscott died on Sunday, June 13 after a lengthy illness in the Kaplan Family Hospice in Danvers. Born in Beverly and raised in Peabody, she graduated from Peabody High School and Westbrook College in Maine. She resided in Swampscott for some 50 years. In her earlier years she worked as a legal secretary and later a homemaker. She was a life member of Hadassah. A strong component in her life was physical fitness. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending many hours in her garden. Beloved wife of Morris M. White. Dear daughter of the late Edward and Sadye Ankeles. Devoted mother of Andrew H. and his wife Michelle White of Marblehead. Cherished grandmother of Samuel and Max White. Loving sister of Matthew Ankeles and his family of Youngstown, OH.
