COLEBROOK -- Barbara F. (Bissell) Sullivan, 74, April 11, 2011, of complications from a long illness. She was born on Feb. 27, 1937, in Exeter, to Sherman and Ida Tilton Bissell. She was in the last graduating class (1955) from Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter. She was active with the Grange, Fraternal Order of the Odd Fellows and Rebekahs, and more recently the American Legion and VFW auxiliaries. She was the loving wife of the late David Sullivan of Epping. IN HER LIFE: Barbara is survived by her six children, Melody Bowen of Rochester, Ilene Sullivan of Lee, Melissa Fortuna of Rockport, Maine, Daniel, Michael and Ryan Sullivan of Colebrook; and Ed Johnston of Newbern, N.C.; her brother, Kenneth Bissell of Centreville, Va.; her grandchildren, Tabitha Bowen, Alex Bowen, David Fortuna and Keith and April Johnston; her great-grandchildren, Damian and Jonathon Bowen; and her niece and nephew, Dena and Cory Bissell. SERVICES: A memorial service is being planned for the immediate family on May 21 in Prospect Cemetery in Epping. Memorial donations may be made to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital, 181 Corliss Lane, Colebrook 03576, or to Muscular Dystrophy Association, 3300 East Sunrise Drive, Tucson, AZ 85718 (mdausa.org.)
