Obituary of Barbara-E. Thomas


THOMAS Barbara E. Thomas, born July 19, 1941 in Alachua County, FL. She passed away January 14, 2005. She was raised by foster parents in Cities of Lake Charles and DeRidder outside Calcachiew Parrish, in the state of Louisiana. Barbara returned to Florida, in her early teens, and through the marriage of her father, Roy D. Hunter, Sr. entered the Maggie Green family. She was a permanent resident of Baker County, Macclenny, FL. She was a licensed registered real estate broker and sat on the Board of Realtors, Lake City, FL. She was the owner and operator of Barbara E. Thomas Real Estate Brokerage and Barbara's Kitchen MFG. CO., Macclenny, FL., also many other Board of Directors, unknown to the public. Barbara was a lifetime member of the order of Eastern Star, Baldwin, FL Chapter #171. Barbara was loved and well known as a respected friend and certified minority business leader of the community her entire adult business life. Her survivors include Jerry W. Thomas, retired General Buil ding Contractor and founder, owner, and inventor of the U.S. original creation patent, The Thomas Magic Spindle TM; son Jerry D. Thomas; daughter, Stormie Jelena Thomas McDaniel; brothers, Richard M. Hunter, Sr., Kenneth Dwight Hunter, and half brothers, Ronnie and Jimmy Pigott, Grandchildren; Cameron David and Blake Edward Thomas; Anjelena Isys and Jerry Edward McDaniel, goddaughter, Deborah Lynn Morris. Lettie V. Thomas was a very dear mother-in-law whom Barbara Called Mother. Franki M. Thomas Harvey was a very dear Sister-in-law whom Barbara Called Sister. Barbara loved, honored, and respected them both. Predeceased by father, Roy D. Hunter, Sr. and brother, Roy D. Hunter, Jr. Chosen Pallbearers are: Cameron D. Thomas, Richard M. (Rick) Hunter, Jr., Dale Rhoden, Jimmy Earl Rhoden, Don Rhoden, and Robbie Combs. Chosen Honorary Pallbearers are: Larry W. Thomas, John Staples, David Fly, Frank Rhoden, Sr., John T. McGlew, and John Kennedy, Mercantile Bank President, Macclenny, Fl. Prof essional services provided by Prestwood Funeral Home, 270 U.S. 301 N, Baldwin Fl. Monument preset and designed by Charles Custom Memorials, Lake City, FL. Funeral Services will be at 12 PM, Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in the Chapel of Prestwood Funeral Home, Baldwin, FL. Viewing will be held prior to the service commencing at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held immediately after the services at Manntown Cemetery, Glen St. Mary, FL, CR 125 S, Baker County.
