Barbara Davis Cox INMAN, SC-- Loved by many and truly an exceptional lady, Barbara Ann Davis Cox, 66, went peacefully home to be with the Lord surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday evening, February 23, 2011. Born in Newberry, SC, on June 15, 1944, she was the daughter of Fran King Davis of Inman and the late Wayne Marvin Davis. She was the loving wife of Reggie W. Cox for 44 years. Barbara was a long-time member of Inman First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Audio-Visual Team and the Caring Sunday School Class. Through the years, Barbara served her church and community by teaching Vacation Bible School, Children's Church, and Mission Friends, as well as leading Brownie and Junior Girl Scout Troops. Barbara was a faithful employee of Pharmacy Consultants for 20 years, where she worked in the Billing and Insurance Department. She is also survived by her daughters, Melissa Marlow and husband Todd of Campobello, and Beth Kuykendall and husband Allen of Landrum; her sisters, Rosa Lee Morris and husband Phillip of Dublin, GA, and Cindy Sacarelos and husband George of Inman. She was predeceased by a sister, Julie White of Lexington, NC. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Grace Cox, wife of the late Walter H. Cox of Inman and her sister-in-law, Vickie Cox Tate of Inman; her grandchildren, Kyle David and Julia Logan Marlow and Allen Bill and Anna Grace Kuykendall; her nieces and nephews, Edward Morris (Valerie) of Wrightsville, GA, Jeffrey Morris (Karen) of Franklin, TN, Christopher Morris (Rachael) of Dublin, GA, Hannah and Will Sacarelos of Inman, and Wesley Tate of Wellford; 15 great-nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26, 2011 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Inman First Baptist Church in the atrium. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 PM with Dr. Paul Moore and the Rev. Lynn Stewart officiating. Honorary Escorts will be The Caring Sunday School Class and Traveler's Rest Classmates of '62. Special thanks to Stephanie Peeler, Celine LeBlanc and Piedmont Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during her final days.
