ROCHESTER ; Barbara F. Brown, 78, of 22 Tonka St., died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008 at the Hyder family Hospice House after a long illness.Born May 3, 1930 in Haverhill, Mass., she is the daughter of the late Edgar and Serena (Ball) Wakefield.Barbara was employed as a house keeper at the Rochester Manor until her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, bingo and latch hook. The family would like to thank the staff at The Hyder Home and at Seacoast Hospice.Members of her family include her sons, Lawrence K. Brown Jr., and his wife, Melody, of Rochester, Leonard brown Sr., and his wife, Debra, of Rochester, Lee Brown Sr. of Rochester and Lloyd Brown and his wife, O'Dalis, of Gonic; a daughter, Lorraine Elliott and her husband, Arthur Sr. of Rochester; her sister, Edith Lewis of Milton and a daughter-in-law, Diane Brown of Somersworth, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased her daughters, Louise Lemere and Lois Lawrence; and a brother, Stanley Buzzell.Calling hours begin at noon Saturday, with a funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the R.M.
