HARDWICK - Barbara Brown, 88, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2008, at the Central Vermont Medical Center.She was born Jan. 21, 1920, in St. Albans, the daughter of George and Pearl Hull. She was married to Arthur E. Brown in 1939 in Rhode Island. She was employed by Ware Knitters in Hardwick and enjoyed reading, sewing and playing cards. She belonged to the Circle 7 of the United Church of Hardwick and the Home Demo Club.She is survived by her children: Richard Brown of Burlington, Loretta Chaples of East Montpelier, Ronald Brown of Pine Island, Fla., Juanita Cournoyer of Cape Coral, Fla. and Debra Kipp of Woodbury; her sisters; Marlene Hames of Arizona, Sylvia Miller of Barre and Janet Atkins of Berlin; her brothers: George Hull, Jr. of Middlesex, Kenneth Hull of East Montpelier and Donnie Hull of Middlesex; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.She is predeceased by her sister, Rita Hull and her brother, Alton Hull.A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Hardwick or Hardwick Rescue.Holcomb-des Groseilliers Funeral Home in Hardwick is in charge of arrangements.
