Barbara Brewer Davis, 59, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003. She was born on Nov. 4, 1943, in Mobile to L.J. and Helen Brewer. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. She was married to Alfred Davis for 42 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Burie Brewer Jr. (L.J.), her brother, Judson and her mother-in-law, Kitty Davis.She is survived by her husband, Richard Alfred Davis; her daughter, Rhonda “Cookie” Davis Stoner; her son-in-law, Allen Stoner of Hartselle; her daughter, Karla Davis Trawick and her son-in-law, John Trawick of Pensacola; and her mother, Helen Smith Brewer of Turnerville. She was the memommy of Camille Davis Stoner, Richard Davis Trawick, Wilson Lee Trawick, Arthur Benjamin “Ben” Stoner, Helen Bassett Trawick and John Brewer Trawick. She was sister to Larry Jacob and Barbara Brewer of Plano, Texas, Judy and John Quinn of Gadsden, Betty and Steve Moehle of Pensacola Beach, Bonnie and Skip Oalmer of Trenton, Tenn., Blondie and Leonard Pritchett of Cantonment, Fla., Billie Faye and Ernie DeView of Turnerville. She was sister-in-law to Lucille and Robin Swift of Atmore, Leslie and Blanche Davis of Tunerville, Wanda and Gray Clark of Jackson, Miss., Glenda and Troy Dixon of Mobile and JoAnn and Ronnie Adams of Satsuma. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.She was a founding member and treasurer of the Angel Squad at Kirklin Clinic and she was a co-founding member of the Anne Griffin Educational Center. She was a very active breast cancer advocate for many groups as well as the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. She was a member of the Louis Josof breast cancer support group. Since her 1997 diagnosis she has worked tirelessly to raise funds to find a cure for breast cancer and make people aware of the seriousness of the disease. She participated in the 2002 Relay for Life in Pensacola with her entire family. She fought to the end, but we will continue to spread her message. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 22, 2003, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road in Pelham. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 23, 2003, at 11 a.m. at Southern Heritage Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside service will take place in the Turnerville Community Cemetery in Turnerville on Saturday, May 24, 2003, at 2 p.m. Dr. Chester Jernigan will be officiating.The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Anne Griffin Education Center, P.O.
