Barbara Armstrong RotterdamBarbara (Kendall) Armstrong, 66, of Rotterdam, formerly of Valatie and Colonie, passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family and friends. Barbara was born in Colonie, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Kendall. She graduated from Colonie High School. Barbara and her beloved husband, Larry, were married October 6, 1973 and worked side by side for 25 years as the owner/operators of a diner in Valatie and also operating a lunch trailer that provided food for many construction workers on area jobs in places such as Utica and Comstock. Barbara and Larry both agreed they had a fun filled life, meeting people from all over the state. Barbara is survived by her much loved son, Christian (Christina) Armstrong; cherished granddaughter, Kayla Armstrong; her sister, Eileen Feret; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Larry R. Armstrong, on September 14, 2010. Calling hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, with a funeral service immediately following at 12 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Colonie. Contributions may be made to Schenectady County Community Hospice in memory of Barbara.
