<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Barbara Anne EricksonNashville, TNBarbara was born February 27, 1934 in Ottawa, IL, and spent her formative years in Wausau, WI. She passed away in Nashville on the 18th of June, 2014 at the age of 80.Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend.After an eventful 16 years as a Navy spouse, Barbara settled with her family in Nashville in 1973. For the better part of a decade, Barbara was secretary to the Chair of the Faculty Senate and then to the Dean of the College of Arts & Science at Vanderbilt University. Later, she enjoyed frequent travel with her husband, Larry, and volunteered as a reading tutor in the Friends in Learning program at Hickman Elementary School. She was most recently a member and sang in the choir of Hermitage United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, John S. Stege and Anne De Vries Stege of Clearwater, FL.She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lawrence E. Erickson; son, Jon Erickson and partner Cheryl Hiers; son and daughter-in-law, Jay Erickson and Silvia Testa; sister, Rita Mann (Larry); grandson, Patrick Erickson; and granddaughter, Alicia Erickson.Barbara's family extends their gratitude to the staff at the Richland Place Health Care Center for their kind and attentive care.Following Barbara's wishes, her body has been donated to the Vanderbilt Anatomical Donation Program.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Martha O'Bryan Center in Nashville or the Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.Details about a Memorial service are pending.
