Barbara Ann (Nord) Vincent, age 88, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully, Monday, July 4, 2011 at the Northside Hospital in Florida. Mrs. Vincent was born, raised, and educated in Quincy. She was a graduate of Quincy High School and the former Quincy City Hospital School of Nursing. She has lived in St. Petersburg, Florida since 1984, previously living in Quincy for most of her life. She was a Registered Nurse and was employed at the former Quincy City Hospital for over thirty years, retiring many years ago. Mrs. Vincent served in the United States Navy as an Ensign during World War II. Barbara was proud of her faith and was an former active member of Saint John the Baptist Church in Quincy and more recently at the Transfiguration Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, FL.. She was devoted to her family. Beloved wife for fifty-five years of the late Thomas W. Vincent. Devoted mother of Thomas Vincent of Washington, D.C., Beverly Elizabeth Vincent of Salt Lake City, Utah, Kathy Rafanan and her husband Eric of Florida, Caroline Fitzgerald and her husband Ed of Vermont, and David Vincent and his wife Adrienne of Braintree. Loving grandmother of Michael, Ed, and Tommy Fitzgerald, Chris, Heather, and Jason Reardon, and Jonathan and Nicholas Vincent and great-grandmother of Braelyn. Sister of Richard Nord of Quincy, the late Robert Nord, the late Russell Nord, the late Doris Vincent, the late Elizabeth Nord, and the late Carol Migala. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, July 11 at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2 | 5 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
