SMITH, Barbara Ann, 62, passed away Monday, April 27, 2009, in Frostproof, Fla. She was born in Belleville, Ill., to William G. and Bertha L. (Bratzel) Strauss. She was a field support clerk for NES, she dearly loved being a beekeeper, and she had been a resident of Frostproof since 1984, coming from Illinois. She is survived by her husband of 13 years, John R. Smith Sr. of Frostproof; children, Diane Hoffman (John) and Shawn Jackson; Tina Farris (Clay), Tracy Cook (Donald Bateman), John Smith Jr. and Charles Smith (Carrie Gallick); sister, Suzanne Mueller (Kermit); aunt, Irma Hecke; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two close friends, Terry and Candy. Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m., with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2009, in the Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bougainvillea Cemetery.
