Barbara-Ann Erickson, born in 1929, spouse of Stanley Erickson, died on September 4, 2006. Please consult the obituary here:
ERICKSON, Barbara Ann After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Barbara Ann (nee Kukurudza), born May 3, 1929, died in the arms of her daughter, Corie and granddaughter, Caitlin on Monday, September 4, 2006. Beloved and cherished mom to Vivian Edwards (Dave), Corie Greene (Terry), Eloise Martens (Chris), Sandra Beauchamp (Sylvain). Wife and caregiver to Stanley. She is also survived by her adored grandchildren: Benjamin, Matthew, Geoffrey, Caitlin, Alexandria, Stefanie, Brittany, Kayla, Cayden, Janine and Cashton; great granddaughter, Alyssa; sister, Maria and brothers, Walter, Lawrence, Ernie and Bill. Barb was kind, warm and generous to a fault, always sacrificing herself to help others. She had a wonderful sense of humor with unending patience, understanding and forgiveness in her large heart. With a strong will and determination, she worked hard both at the Gorge Road Hospital prior to her retirement and at home with her family. She later became a devoted caregiver to her husband Stan as his health failed and needs increased. She was an accomplished seamstress, expert in knitting and crochet, a brilliant mathematician, a wonderful cook and an avid gardener. Barb was always conscientious and hard working and it somehow seems fitting that mom passed away at sunrise (which she loved so much) on Labour Day. You are impossible to replace and will be sorely missed and forever in our hearts and memory. Rest in peace mom. Special thanks to all the nurses, doctors and volunteers at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital, Palliative Care Unit for your loving and compassionate care to our mom in her final days. She appreciated you all. You are angels of mercy. No funeral by request. Cremation and interment at Hatley Memorial Gardens. If desired, donations in memory of Barb may be made to SPH, Palliative Care Unit or the SPH Serenity Garden Fund beside the Palliative Care Unit. Each life is a miracle that changes the worldand leaves it a better place than it was before. 291236
