Barbara A. Sullivanof Billerica, worked at Griggs Farm; 78 BILLERICA -- Barbara A. (Murphy) Sullivan, 78 years old, died at home surrounded by her loving family on August 26, 2010, after a brief illness.Born on May 13, 1932 in Medford, MA, she was the daughter of the late Mildred Gavin Murphy and John R. Murphy.She moved to Billerica in 1958 with her late husband, Harold T. Sullivan where they raised their four children.She was employed by Griggs Farm since 1967, first in the store front and later moving to the garden center, working along side her co-workers of many years. She enjoyed season after season greeting her loyal customers and sharing her love of flowers, especially her favorite, the geranium.She was a faithful communicant of St. Theresa's Church. An independent woman who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, attending their sports and activities, Her favorite pastimes were spent watching the Red Sox as she was a huge Red Sox fan , collecting sea shells on Cape Cod, dining out, crosswords and puzzles, friends, Facebook and Farmville.She is survived by her four children, James M. Sullivan and wife, Joanne of Haverhill, MA, Robert D. Sullivan and his wife, Kristine of E. Sandwich, MA, Donna M. Howe and her husband, Richard of Billerica, MA and Barbara J. Hansen and her husband, Gary of Chatham, MA. She will be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Sullivan, Michael Robert and Julia Lynne Sullivan, Brian James and Matthew James Howe, Ryan Stephen, Ashley Marie and Tyler Robert Hansen.She is also survived by two brothers, Robert Murphy of Arlington, MA, and Philip Murphy of Lexington, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond Murphy of Lexington, MA, Richard Murphy of N. Reading, MA, and her sister, Marybeth Messina of Westwood, MA.Her children would like for their family, friends, and neighbors to know that each one of you held a special reason for her fighting the fight.SULLIVAN -- Of Billerica, August 26, Barbara A.
