MERRIMACK - Barbara Ann Morrison, 77, of Merrimack, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, surrounded by her family at the Genesis Eldercare Ridgewood in Bedford, after a long illness. She was born in Brighton, Mass., on Nov. 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Armand and Alice (Potvin) Dulong. Mrs. Morrison resided in Brighton for many years before moving to Merrimack 13 years ago. Before retirement, she was employed for several years at the Provident Institution for Savings and had also been employed at the Fessenden School in West Newton, Mass. Mrs. Morrison was a former president of the VFW Post 669 Ladies Auxiliary in Allston,Mass., and was a member of the VFW Post 8641 Ladies Auxiliary in Merrimack. She was also a member of the Merrimack Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed traveling, with trips to Foxwoods, Germany, Puerto Rico, St.Thomas, Aruba and many more. Barbara was loved by her many neighbors at the Camp Sargeant Co-op and her community. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Richard L. Morrison, who died in 1977; a granddaughter, Heather Schezer, who died in 2012 and a sister, Doris "Nauntie" Harrold of Dorchester, Mass. Members of her family include her husband of 59 years, Lawrence Morrison of Merrimack, Barbara Warren and her friend, Tommy Burdette of Merrimack, Lawrence and his wife, Meg of Virginia Beach, Va., Karen Poulack Morrison of Bedford and Thomas and his fiance, Heather Pickell of Manchester and her adored 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. . SERVICES: Calling hours will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, Friday, Feb. 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton, Mass.
