<br/> <br/>BRIAN K. <br/>'POSSUM' <br/>SMITH --> BRIAN K. 'POSSUM' SMITH, 57 Carpenter WINTER HAVEN - Brian K. 'Possum' Smith, 57, passed away at his home in Winter Haven on September 16th, 2014, due to respiratory failure. He was born in Winter Haven and was a lifelong resident. He was a carpenter. He loved fishing, yard sales and teaching young family members how to fish and catch gators. There has been a large void left by your passing Possum, and we will love you always. He was preceded in death by his father, David U. Smith, and nephews, Jimmy Blackwell and Derek Brown. He is survived by his mother, Betty J. Smith, a daughter, Sherliyn Young, a brother, David 'Buckshot' Smith, sisters, Connie E. Smith, Cheryl Brown, and Janie Blackwell, a grandson, Bailey Young, numerous nieces and nephews, and many other family and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 20th, from 10-11, with a service following at 11. Both will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale.
