Obituary of Betty-L. Smith


Smith, Betty L. (Chrabaszcz) Rochester/Whitesboro: Passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Episcopal Church Home in Rochester, NY, at age 88. She was a long time resident of Whitesboro. Betty was born in Utica and worked for 28 years at Marcy State Hospital. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus/Holy Cross Parish Polish National Catholic Church, New York Mills. Predeceased by her husband David W. Smith and son Thomas M. Smith, she is survived by her loving daughter Lynn Wilmarth and son-in-law Douglas McKnight of Rochester, grandsons Steven (Jaclyn) and Thomas (Annaliese) Wilmarth also of Rochester, granddaughter Kim (Smith) Sager of Newburgh, NY, and grandson Sean Smith of Philadelphia. Betty also leaves beloved great-grandchildren Emily, Matthew, John and Katelyn Wilmarth, with whom she joyously spent her final years in the Rochester area, as well as other relatives and friends. Friends are invited to visit between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12 at Wolanin Funeral Home Inc., 266 Main St, New York Mills, NY. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM Wednesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus/Holy Cross Parish Polish National Catholic Church, 206 Main St. in New York Mills, followed by burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Hartford, NY.
