Barbara-N. Wilson, born in 1928, spouse of T. C Wilson, daughter of John and Pearle, died on August 10, 2014. Please consult the obituary here:
WILSON, BARBARA N. - of Farragut, TN passed away suddenly at Park West Hospital Sunday, August 10, 2014. She was born October 16, 1928 in Greenwood, SC, the only child of John Frank and Pearle Norman. She attended school in Greenwood throughout her childhood and enjoyed voice, piano, and dance. Her desire to teach led her to attend Furman University and obtain a degree in education. She then married her loving and devoted husband T.C. Wilson and moved to the Oak Ridge and Knoxville areas where she taught several years before starting her family. Barbara served for sixty years at Central Baptist Church of Bearden as a deacon's wife and caregiver in the nursery. Barbara was known for her beautiful smile, humor, endless love, and acceptance of everyone she crossed paths with. She was a natural servant for the Lord, always putting others before herself. Barbara was a wonderful woman who had the unique gift of always seeing the best in others, listening to those in need, encouraging everyone, and loving unconditionally. Her strong but gentle spirit made all of those who knew her a little better, a little kinder, and a little stronger. Her loss is felt deeply by her daughter Joan Marshall and husband Lynn, son Mark Wilson and wife Shirley, daughter Melanie Noe and husband Phillip, devoted niece Becca Wise, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Her death is, however, celebrated by her husband T.C. Wilson who preceded her in his journey to Heaven. Barbara will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on as we express her gentle, unconditional love to others. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 4:30 PM Wednesday August 13th at Highland Memorial Funeral Home Chapel 5315-Kingston Pike Knoxville TN. Funeral service will follow visitation at 4:30 PM with burial in Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Baptist Church of Bearden 6300 Deane Hill Dr. Knoxville TN 37919 in memory of Barbara Wilson. "But our citizenship is in Heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself." Philippians 3:20-21. Visit the online guest book at www.highlandmemorialknoxville.com
