BARBARA LYNNMURPHY, 62 LAKELAND - Barbara Lynn Murphy, 62 of Lakeland, died May 2, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Barbara was born November 24, 1949 in Berea, OH to Thadius and Rosalyn (Mohammed) Michalak and moved to Lakeland over 25 years ago from Illinois. Barbara was a member of the United Methodist Temple and was active in its choir, Sunday school programs and served on its altar guild. Barbara will always be remembered for putting others needs before her own and enjoyed dog sitting and playing bridge. She is preceded in death by her husband, Denny R. Murphy in 2010, her father, and brother, David Michalak. She is survived by her mother, Rosalyn (Carl) Bankovich of Parma, OH; her sister, Judith (George) Gagliardi of Orlando; her sisters-in-law, Kathy Barker of Harrisburg, IL and Joyce (Ken) Bodi of Granite City, IL; her brothers-in-law, William (Sam) Murphy of Mulberry and Mark (Lori) Murphy of Eldorado, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 11am Saturday May 19th at the United Methodist Temple in Lakeland. Interment will take place in Lakeland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Temple or Good Shepherd Hospice of Auburndale.
