BARBARA HUFF NELSON - BURLINGTON - Barbara "Bobbie" Huff Nelson, age 72, passed away with peace and dignity at home on Dec. 31, 2013., in the company of her loving family. Barbara was born on May 12, 1941, to Dr. Ralph and Margaret Huff. She grew up in Tacoma, Wash., where she attended Annie Wright Seminary, class of 1959. She studied at Washington State University from 1959-1961. She then worked at Blue Cross/Blue Shield and later for Washington Credit Union, where she worked for more than 20 years. Barbara felt her greatest accomplishment in life was raising her two children, Sarah and Scott, in Lake Forest Park, Wash., in the Sheridan Heights community. In 1999, she moved to Mill Creek, Wash., where she became a member of Mill Creek Community Church. She loved her grandchildren, gardening, crafting, her cat, and "puttering." She lived a humble life and will always be known for her selflessness and honesty. May 2012, she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and moved to Burlington to spend time with her beloved grandchildren and receive treatment. In her final months, she astounded us all with her courage and strength. She lived her entire life with genuine grace and those qualities were only more apparent in the face of staggering adversity. She is survived by her daughter, Sarah; her son, Scott; her grandchildren, Wyatt and Asa; and her sister, Sue. She will live on in the hearts, minds, and souls of all of her loved ones.
