->ELLSWORTH - Avis Mae Davis went to be with her Lord, Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Feb. 15, 1924, at Newport, R.I., daughter of Frances and Hazel Spencer.Avis had a lifelong passion for gardening and service to others. All who knew her cherished her smile and wit.She is survived by a daughter, Lilias and husband, Norman, of Melbourne, Fla.; and two sons, John of St. Paul, Minn., and Vincent of Brewer. Avis was predeceased by husband, John Lewey; and husband, Andy Davis.Friends are invited to visit with the family 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert, with a service of remembrance beginning 11 a.m. Interment will be at Otter Creek Cemetery, Otter Creek.
