->WALLAGRASS - Aurore M. Michaud, 86, died peacefully April 11, 2013, at Ridgewood Estates, Madawaska. She was born June 15, 1926, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Phillip and Sophie (Cyr) Pelletier. She graduated in 1944 from Wisdom High School. In 1946 she married Bernard Michaud and together they built a life on Riverside Farm, a beautiful potato farm in Wallagrass. They were blessed with 60 wonderful years together. She and Dad enjoyed trips to California, Florida, Bermuda and Washington D.C., but their favorite trips were the ones they took out back in the fields checking on the crops or watching for deer and moose. Saturday evenings were usually the time for playing cards with their friends. Mom enjoyed her yard and always looked forward to the first daffodils. Then the hummingbirds would arrive and she always made sure they had fresh nectar. She spent many hours during the long winter months researching the family genealogy. Our fondest memories are of the many family gatherings and her great cooking. She loved having the grandchildren visit and making fresh bread, chicken stew with dumplings, ployes and apple pie. All the Michaud's and Pelletier's could depend on a warm welcome when they returned to visit the valley. She was fortunate to see the next generation of Michaud's, with eight great-grandchildren. And to her delight, she learned this winter that number nine would be born in July! Aurore was a life time member of Ladies of St. Anne, Wallagrass. She loved her Catholic faith and when times were tough for us, we could be sure Mom was praying her Rosary. She was so very thankful for her family and the long life God gave her.She is survived by four sons, Bernard and wife, Deborah Michaud, of Cumberland, Francis and wife, Karen Michaud, of Hudson, Mass., Thomas Michaud and significant other, Lucy, of Wallagrass and Michael and wife, Sandy Michaud, of Savannah, Texas; and one daughter, Phyllis and husband, Gene Wilson, of Farmingdale; she is also survived by 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Fortin of Montreal, Quebec and Fabiola "Bea" Parent of New York; two brothers, Donald Pelletier of Colorado and Lloyd "Romeo" Pelletier of Arizona; a special sister-in-law, Nanette Pelletier of Eagle Lake; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bernard, in 2007; grandson, Seth, in 2003; and eight brothers and sisters. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for the caregivers that Mom had over the years. Mom said many times how she loved her room and the wonderful care she received at the Estates. Thank you all so much. Our family will welcome visitors 9 a.m. Saturday, April 27 at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. We will celebrate her life with a funeral mass 11 a.m. at Soldier Pond.
