AMOS, ARTHUR W. "WES," 90, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 at his daughter's residence. He was a native of Jacksonville, FL, and an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a Lieutenant and flight instructor. He was the former owner of Midstates Leasing Company, the old Cooper Louisville Company, and the old Southern Supply Company. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and a charter member of Hurstbourne Country Club. He was the Mayor of the city of Bellemeade for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Lucille Ferriell; a son, Richard A. Amos; and a brother, Russell L. Amos. He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Scott (D. C. Miles); a son, Arthur R. Amos (Jeanne); seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 7813 Shelbyville Road, with burial in Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday and 2-5 p.m. on Sunday at Ratterman's, 3711 Lexington Road. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Louisville.
