Obituary of Arthur-T. Anderson


Arthur T. Anderson, 75     BATH -- Arthur T. Anderson, 75, of Dummer St. Court, died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.     He was born in Clifford, Pa. on April 26, 1931, a son of Ernest and Eva Guiner Anderson and was educated in the local schools there.     He entered the Army and graduated from the Military Police Academy, and was stationed at Fort Devens during the Korean War.     On Oct. 7, 1950, he married Marilyn Wright at Fort Devens and returned to Bath in 1961 to make their home.     Mr. Anderson worked for a time at Wright's Gas Station in Bath and later worked security at Bath Iron Works for 33 years, retiring in 1996.     He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, watching NASCAR, New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, and staying informed of current events. He especially enjoyed being involved in family activities and spending time with his grand and great-grandchildren.     He is predeceased by a son, Arthur T. Anderson Jr.; a brother, Andrew Anderson; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Harley.     Surviving is his wife of 56 years; two sons, Thomas A. Anderson and Raymond A. Anderson, both of Bath; four daughters, Dorothy A. Harley and her husband, William of Pond, Wis., Virginia L. Garcia and her husband Steve of Long Beach, Calif., Eva J. Stewart and her husband Glenn of Durham, and Roberta J. Harley of Marinette, Wis.; a brother, Lee Anderson and his wife Donna of Curwensville, Pa.; a sister, Thelma Lucas of Grampian, Pa.; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.     Funeral services will be private for the family.     Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.     Arrangements are by David E. Desmond & Son Funeral Home, 638 High St., Bath.
