ROCHON, Arthur - The family announces with sorrow his death, in Sudbury Thursday March 8th, 2007, at the age of 86 years. Son of the late Fred and of the late Dola (née Myre) Rochon. Beloved husband of Gilberte Rochon (née Roy) of Sudbury. Loving father of Paulette Lavoie (late Maurice), Robin (Lynda) and Roy all of Sudbury, Georgette Plante (late Jean Paul) of Coniston and Arthur Jr. (Liisa) of Lively. Predeceased by his sister Gertrude Lefebvre (late Joe). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Renée, Christopher, Shelly (Scott), Jody (Rob), Jessica (David), Korinne, Lana, Monique (Paxton), Serge (Francine), Allain (Olwen), Joel (Maria), Dominique (Belinda) and by his great-grandchildren Georgia, Broughan, Tavish, McKenna, Paul Jeanna, Elodie, Kamin, Danika, Aiden, Kynan, Andrew and Matthew. Mr. Rochon was a World War II corporal veteran and a member of the Normandie Invasion Battalion. Afterwards, Arthur served as a police officer in Sudbury and Chelmsford. He eventually became manager of the Markstay arena until his retirement in 1986. The family will receive friends at the CO- OPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd., East (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9:30pm. A prayer service under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 76 will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday March 12th, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. in St-Marc Church, Markstay. Lasalle Est (angle Notre-Dame), Sudbury, dimanche de 14h à 17h et de 19h à 21h30. La messe funéraire sera célébrée le lundi 12 mars 2007 10 h à la paroisse St- Marc. Markstay.
