Arthur N. "Ott" Carter, 80, of Louisville, died Sunday, August 24, 2003, at VA Medical Center. He was a native of Roanoke, KY, in Larue County and a member of Lyons Missionary Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran of the 8th Air Corps, stationed in Bungae, England, a former owner of Turnpike Auto Sales and a retired auto salesman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ann Carter, of Hodgenville, KY; a grandson, Shaen; and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Pauline Houchin Carter; daughters, Diana Kuhn and Tamela; sons, Mark, Phil and Jim; eight grandchildren, Brian, Chas, Jared, Nolan, Charlie, Katie, Daniel and Elizabeth; a sister, Nellie Gentry; a brother, Jim; and many nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday at O.D. White & Sons Funeral Home, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial gifts may go to Veterans of Foreign Wars, PO Box 8958, Topeka, KS 66608.
