Active in town affairsWENTWORTH ; Arthur Charles Morrison, 79, of Buffalo Road, died April 3, 2009, at the Grafton County Home, in North Haverhill.Born in Wentworth at the August and Zoe King Residence and delivered by midwife Ada Clough on Jan. 30, 1930, he was the son of William A. and Hazel [Whitney] Morrison.He attended Wentworth Elementary School and graduated from Plymouth High School, class of 1948. He had resided in Wentworth for most of his life. He worked for the Merrimack Farmers Exchange for about 30 years. He started in the Plymouth location and later managed the Woodsville Store. He went on to become a salesperson for H.K. Webster, R.C. Perkins and L.D. Oliver Seed Co. of Milton, Vt.He was a volunteer firefighter and volunteer ambulance attendant for the Wentworth Fire Department. He also served for about 20 years as an auxiliary New Hampshire State Trooper for Troop F. He served the community of Wentworth as a selectman, health officer, police constable, school board member, and town moderator.He married L. Priscilla Tuttle on August 14, 1953.He served in the Army from 1948 to 1950 stationed at Fort Hood in Texas. He then served for two years in the National Guard. He is survived by his wife, L. Priscilla [Tuttle] Morrison of Wentworth; sons, James Morrison and wife Rebecca LaBelle, of Barrington, Lee Morrison and wife Joyce, Randy Morrison and wife Cassandra, all of Wentworth, Tom Morrison and wife Sue of Plymouth; a daughter, Cathy Houde and husband Ray of Dover; 17 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald &quot;Shoay&quot; Morrison of Alma, Ga.; sisters, Wilma Smiley of Winston-Salem, N.C., Joan Ames of Wentworth; and many nieces nephews and cousins.Calling hours will be held in the Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth on Wednesday 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Wentworth Congregational Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. The Rev. John Wentworth, pastor, will officiate.
