ARTHUR M. GRIMES CHESTERTON, IN Arthur Matthew Grimes, 81, of Chesterton, IN, formerly of Oak Park, IL passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso, IN. He was born October 16, 1932 in Chicago, IL to Arthur J. and Martha (Fleischman) Grimes. Arthur served 12 years with the U.S. Naval Reserves in Glenview, IL and had been a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Chicago. He began his career as Maintenance Supervisor with G.J. Aigner Printing, then became a Regional Lubrication Engineer with Mobil Oil before beginning his own business, Universal Four, from 1975-2000. In 1980, he founded Lubrico, a supplier of proprietary industrial lubricants which continues to be family owned. On May 18, 1957 Arthur married Tollie Jacklin who survives along with their children: Arthur Paul (Polly) Grimes of Oak Park, IL, Mary Karen (Kenneth) Gehrling of Chicago, IL, Phillip Michael (Cynthia) Grimes of Villa Park, IL, Mary Katherine (Patrick) Culkeen of Livonia, MI, Stuart William (Colleen) Grimes of Chesterton, IN; sister, June Franks of Kenosha, WI; and grandchildren: Meghan, Benjamin (Katie), William, Melissa (Zack), Michael, Brian, Burke, Brigit, Anya, Erin, Molly, Hannah and Liam. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elizabeth Burgess; and brother, Ralph Grimes. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, a celebration of life will occur Sunday from 1:00-4:00 PM at Sand Creek Country Club, 1001 Sand Creek Dr., Chesterton, IN, 46304.
