->NORTH NEW PORTLAND -- Arthur L. Henderson, 96, died on Saturday, June 3, 2006, at Somerset Rehabilitation & Living Center in Bingham.He was born on Sept. 20, 1909, in Lexington, the son of A. Lester and Venessa Mae (Page) Henderson.Arthur graduated from Central High School in North New Portland.He worked most of his life at area wood-product mills, and had also worked for the New Portland road crew.Arthur enjoyed fishing, especially at Spruce Pond, where he owned and operated sporting camps for several years.He was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth A. Henderson; and two sisters, Thirza Leavitt and Bernice D. Henderson. He is survived by a sister, Doris Atwood of North New Portland; a special niece, Marilyn Gorman of North New Portland; a nephew and several nieces; and his cat, Fisky.A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, in East Cemetery, New Portland, with the Rev. Scott Planting officiating.Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., Madison.
