Obituary of Arthur-L. Williams


WILLIAMS, Arthur L. age 91 of Weeki Wachee passed away April 3, 2005. Born in 1913 in Williamstown, Vt. he graduated from the University of Vt. as a civil engineer and 2nd Lt. in the Infantry Reserve. He became a Resident Engineer, building highways and bridges in his home state. He entered the Army in July of 1941 and served in many international locations, supervising airport and construction projects. He was discharged with the rank of Major in 1946 and served in the reserves until 1953. He was a member of the C-B-I Veterans Association. He went on to a successful career in commercial engineering, managing projects around the world, including South America, Greece, Thailand, Australia and many countries in the Far East and the Middle East. He and his wife, Dora began sharing their residence between Greece and Florida in 1986 to spend time with his brother, Gerald. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dora; his son Larry; daughter Sharon; grandson Scott; and granddaughter B eth. Visitation for friends will be 10a.m.-12:00p.m., Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Spring Hill Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00p.m., Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Florida National Cemetery.
