Arthur L. Carter, 87, Englewood, died April 29, 2005. He was born Jan. 12, 1918, in North Manchester, Ind., and came to Englewood in 1982 from there. He retired as maintenance supervisor at North Manchester Foundry. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of VFW Post 10178 and the Moose Lodge, both of Englewood. He was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles, both of North Manchester. Survivors include his wife, Doris; sons Stephen L. and Kevin B., both of North Manchester, David N. of Fort Wayne, Ind.; stepdaughters Diana Beacham and Gail Reske, both of Port Charlotte; a stepson, Curtis Russell of Greenville, N.C.; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. No local services are planned. Lemon Bay Funeral Home, Englewood Chapel, is in charge.
