Anderson, Arthur L.Sept. 27, 1952 - June 16, 2009Arthur L. "Larry" Anderson, 56, of North Port, formerly of Venice and Nokomis, died June 16, 2009.Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of the Pines in Nokomis. Burial will follow at Venice Memorial Gardens. Larry lived in Nokomis and Venice his entire life and was a graduate of Venice High School. He worked for the Sarasota County Parks and Recreation Dept. for 33 and a half years before retiring in 2008. He was a true Florida Cracker and an avid hunter and fisherman. Larry always had an American Bulldog and a horse. Surviving family members include his mother, Juanita Anderson of North Port; a daughter, Jessica Lee (William) Henry of Venice; sons Larry Anderson of Venice, Desmond Lee Anderson of Venice and Evan Thomasen of Nokomis; a sister, Anna Kent of North Port; good friend Holly Wallick of North Port; nieces Laurie Ann Jones, Josie Lee Williams, D.J. Blanchard and Taylor McCurdy; and a nephew, Brian Blanchard. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Anderson Sr.Memorial donations may be made to TideWell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota FL 34238.
