Arthur Joseph Raymond Arthur passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2010, in the loving presence of his family. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; his three children: Lianne and her husband Michael; Darren and his wife Shelby, and their daughter Juliet; and Trina and her husband Jeremy, and their children William and Anna; his sisters Alice (Joe) Hounjet, Gisele Raymond, Irene (Ernest) Fontaine, Germaine (Armand) Grise, Therese (Joe) Mercier, and his brother John (Pauline) Raymond. He is predeceased by his parents Augustine (Pelletier) and Joseph; his brothers Roland and Louis; his first wife Lucille (Doderai); his grandson Vincent; and his very special aunt Rose Raymond. Arthur was born in St. Denis, Saskatchewan in 1940, living there into his teen years, after which he moved to Saskatoon, working in a variety of construction jobs. In 1971, he started work in the custodial department at the University of Saskatchewan, where he continued to work until his retirement in 2000. Among the passions in his life were spending time outdoors, riding his bike along the trails of the Meewasin Valley, and cross-country skiing. He loved to read, talk politics and follow the exploits of the greatest hockey team in the world the Montreal Canadiens. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church (110 104th St.) in Saskatoon, on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Fr. David Tumback. Rite of Committal will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that those wishing to do so donate to the Canadian Lung Association or the Irene and Leslie Dube Centre at Royal University Hospital.
